With the Moon On Our Wings
Juniper Prairie Wilderness has long captured the imagination of those who pass through it. From the first homesteaders who settled along its edges to writer Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, whose Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Yearling was inspired by the area, generations of people have been drawn to this small corner of the Florida scrub.
I spent several years exploring and photographing the area, fascinated by the relationship between the people who pass through and the enduring presence of the land itself.
With the Moon on Our Wings is a photographic meditation on that relationship, using observations of Juniper Prairie Wilderness to explore memory, presence, and impermanence.
